Our Story

Growing up, I watched my father work in his workshop, surrounded by flying wood shavings and the smell of freshly cut timber. He would carve each piece of wood with care, turning it into an artwork that held warmth and stories. My father was a carpenter, and from him, I learned the unique textures and scents of different woods and, most importantly, how to pour one’s heart into breathing life into every piece.

Years later, I followed the same path into wood carving. As I began to create, I discovered a deep connection to the ocean; each piece I carve is a tribute to my love and respect for the sea. There's something magical about the moment when the sunset shines upon the water, casting ripples and light that seem to whisper stories. I wanted to capture that fleeting moment, to carve it into wood so that anyone who sees it can feel that sense of calm and beauty.

One day, my daughter woke up and asked me, “Daddy, why does the ocean always have to be blue? I like the idea of a pink ocean.”

In that moment, I realized that the color of the sea shouldn't be limited. It's not just a reflection of nature, but also an expression of each person's inner world. Since then, I’ve started carving the ocean in various colors, each piece reflecting its own unique emotion and hue. I wanted everyone to see the ocean in their own way, in the colors that speak to them.

The name "Tang" holds a special meaning. It is my daughter’s name and symbolizes a legacy passed down. Just as I inherited my skills from my father, I hope my daughter will feel the same love for life and nature through my work. Every piece is handcrafted by me and is one-of-a-kind. It carries my hopes for my family and the future, and I want to share that feeling with everyone who sees it.

For me, the quantity of sales is not important, what matters is the artwork itself. I pour my heart into carving each piece, and I truly hope that my works can bring you warmth and hope.
